Bookworms Against Bullies was founded by author, Typhani Russo, an avid bookworm who sought to create an organization to help young children and teens overcome bullying by sharing a love for books. As someone who has been bullied her entire life, Typhani created Bookworms Against Bullies as an outlet for fellow bookworms who need a safe environment to be themselves. She is an anti-bullying motivational speaker who has spoken at numerous elementary schools and universities. Most notably, she was chosen as the guest speaker for the ‘United We Can’ speaker series on April 13, 2023 at the Lakemont Casino.

 

She has written several published articles about her experiences with bullying and the lasting impact it has on young people. Bookworms Against Bullies hosts events throughout Central Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. Her mission is to advocate to bring awareness to the severity of the problem in today’s society.

Bookworms Against Bullies is a non-profit located in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The foundation is administered by the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation.
